citizenM (branded citizenM) is a Netherlands based hotel chain. It opened its first hotel at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport in 2008, followed by one in city of Amsterdam itself in 2009. Its first overseas hotel in Glasgow opened in 2010, followed by one in London in 2012., one in New York City and one in Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport in 2014. The company was co-founded by Rattan Chadha and Michael Levie, and uses the slogan "affordable luxury for the people" for its hotels.
