Komandarm

''Komandarm'' is the abbreviation to ''Commanding of the Army'' ((ロシア語:Командующий армией); literal: Commander of the Army / Army commander), and was a military rank in the Soviet Armed Forces of the USSR in the period from 1935 to 1940. It was also the designation to military personnel appointed to command an army group or front sized formation (XXXXX).
There were two ranks of ''Komandarm'', approximately corresponding to "General" / "General of the Army", or NATO ranks OF-9.
*''Komandarm 2nd rank'', with the insignia of four diamonds OF-9b.
*''Komandarm 1st rank'', with the insignia of four diamonds and a star OF-9a.
