''Congea'' is a small genus of flowering plants in the mint family, Lamiaceae, first described in 1820. It contains climbing plants native to southern China, the Himalayas, and Southeast Asia〔(Kew World Checklist of Selected Plant Families )〕〔(Flora of China Vol. 17 Page 49 绒苞藤属 rong bao teng shu ''Congea'' Roxburgh, Pl. Coromandel. 3: 90. 1820. )〕 that are rarely seen in cultivation outside the tropics.
