Cowpen
Cowpen is a place in Northumberland, in England. It is a part of Blyth and just east of the A189 road. The Ward population taken at the 2011 census was 4,466.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Blyth Ward population 2011 )〕 In the 12th century CE, its name was ''Cupum'', possibly the dative plural of Old Norse ''kupa'', "a cuplike depression or valley".〔Allen Mawer, "The Scandinavian Kingdom of Northumbria", page 309, ''Essays and studies presented to William Ridgeway: on his sixtieth birthday, 6 August 1913'', Cambridge University Press, 1913.〕
