Cropton is a village and civil parish in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, England. It is on the border of the North York Moors National Park, north-west of Pickering. At the 2001 census, the parish had a population of 254, increasing to 321 at the 2011 Census.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Parish population 2011 )〕 Cropton Brewery, a microbrewery, is located to the rear of the New Inn on the edge of the village. To the rear is the site of a Motte and Bailey Castle, known as the Round Hill.
