== History ==

CyberArk was founded in 1999 by Alon N. Cohen and current president and CEO Udi Mokady〔SearchCIO "(Congressman Prepares for Cyberwar, Calls on IT Experts )," July 2014〕 in Israel, who assembled a team of security engineers and worked to implement the digital vault concept and technology (). The digital vault technology (also known as network vault) combines eight layers of security which resides within an existing network perimeter and focuses around data itself, creating a central repository to share and store proprietary or confidential data. Now branded The Digital Vault, it serves as a foundational element for CyberArk's privileged account security solutions today.
On October 7, 2015, CyberArk announced plan to acquire privately-held Viewfinity, a Massachusetts-based company that specializes in privilege management and application control software. The deal will help CyberArk offer complete security solutions to organizations and companies for protecting their data against external and internal threats.
