89.5 Brigada News FM is the flagship FM station of Brigada Mass Media Corporation, located in 2nd floor, Brigada Complex, NLSA Road, Barangay San Isidro, General Santos City, Philippines The Stations operates 24 Hours a day except Mondays where its signs off at midnight to 4:00 AM and except holy week where its signs off at midnight from Black Saturday and lasts until 4:00 AM of Easter Sunday. ==Profile== In 1998, the station was originally launched by Baycomms Broadcasting Corporation in Koronadal City, South Cotabato as Bay Radio 89.5. In 2004, the station was moved to General Santos City for a greener pasture, wherein, studio equipments, transmitter and tower occupied the abandoned broadcast center/building of former DXRE-AM/DXOO-FM radio stations beside Bernabe Coliseum, J. Catolico Ave, General Santos City. In 2008, DXYM-FM 89.5 suffered operational losses and operated in a very low power output. In October 18, 2009, the radio station saw a bright future when it was acquired by Brigada News, the #1 local daily newspaper in Mindanao during the 4th foundation anniversary celebration of the newspaper. On its relaunch, the new management transformed its Format in the innovation of mixing the modern AM’s news and public affairs format (Primetime) to traditional FM programming anchored by former Bombo Radyo, Super Radyo and RMN stations commentators and FM veteran Disc Jocks. In 2011, 89.5 Brigada news FM transferred to its new studio complex equipped with state of the art digital broadcasting equipments and high power digital ready transmitters at Brigada Complex, NLSA Road, Barangay San Isidro, General Santos City, Philippines. According to the latest official survey result conducted by The Nielsen Company, Brigada FM is #1 in News, Commentaries, Public Affairs Programs and in Music and #1 in the over all ratings in both FM and AM radio stations in General Santos City.
