Derajat
Derajat (Punjabi, Urdu: ), the Arabic plural for the word 'dera',〔http://books.google.com.pk/books?id=NUhxU7Amx5UC&pg=RA2-PA98&lpg=RA2-PA98&dq=derajat&source=bl&ots=Wzd5HhBa9a&sig=_7SP6ntQCXndSTF5e1HM80CzQL4&hl=en&sa=X&ei=U89HVL7eGdOS7AbL94GwDg&ved=0CBoQ6AEwADgK#v=onepage&q=derajat&f=false〕 is a cultural region of central Pakistan, located in the region where the provinces of Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab meet.〔(【引用サイトリンク】 title=About Punjab: Geography )〕〔(【引用サイトリンク】 title=People & Culture ) 〕 Derajat is bound by the Indus River to the east and the mountains to the west. The region consists of three districts, Dera Ghazi Khan (western Punjab), founded by Ghazi Khan Dodai, and Dera Ismail Khan (southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), founded by Ismail Khan Dodai as well as smaller districts, Rajanpur and Tank, which were separated from Dera Ghazi Khan and Dera Ismail Khan, respectively. People of these Deras are called Derawal and the dialect of Saraiki they speak is called as Derawali dialect.
