Recently, it has been given revenue division status also by the government. == History == Devarakonda Fort was a formidable stronghold of the Recharla Velama Kings.The 8th generation king of recharla velama nayaka namely mada nayak built this fort in 14th centuary ad .this fort have a very big history.many great kings had ruled this fort some of them are 2nd singala naayak,linganayak,peda dana nayaketc. The fort now stands amidst ruins. A place worth visiting by antiquity lovers, it is of no more than of archaeological interest.
