Dhrubganj
Dhrubganj is a gram panchayat of Kharik block in Bhagalpur district of Bihar state in India. It comes under the legislative assembly of Bihpur which is represented by Er. Shailendra Kumar. Before the abolition of Zamindari system in India, this village was considered as a village of Zamindars. However, after the abolition of zamindari, most of the people lost their lands and now are small scale peasants. == History and people == It is grossly estimated that the village was inhabited around 600–700 years ago. The existence of Purani Durga Mandir which is more than 500 years old supports this assumption. People who occupied the place had migrated from west in search of fertile and safer land. Traces of migration can be made from the genealogy of people residing in the village. As one family settled, slowly it expanded and claimed more land. Land and cattle were considered to be primary wealth. After the establishment of Zamindari system, many people became big landlords. The social division was strictly based on caste. All the castes received grains in exchange of their services. In this manner, the economy of the village was closed one and with very limited interactions outside the village. After independence, the village had Sri Ram Babu as leader of Indian National Congress. Due to efforts of Sri Ram Babu, the village had electricity, roads and other facilities long before it would have got otherwise. Communism led by Comred Upendra Kumar also had a strong hold among the underprivileged sections of the society.
