Dilara : ウィキペディア英語版
Dilara
Dilara is a female first name. It has Persian roots and comes from the Persian word ''del'' (''دل'' means heart). In Persian "ara" is a suffix means something used as ornament to beatify. It can be translated as “she who delights the heart” or “she who is pleasing” 〔 Wilfried Seibicke: ''Historisches deutsches Vornamenbuch. Bd. 1, A-E''. De Gruyter, Berlin 1996, ISBN 3-11-014445-X, S. 512.〕 or "what makes heart beautiful".
It is also closely related to the Turkish word ''dilek'' (desire).〔 ''Duden. Das große Vornamenlexikon''. 3., völlig neu bearb Aufl., Dudenverlag, Mannheim 2007, ISBN 978-3-411-06083-2, S. 121. 〕
Dilara is also an old Turkish name where "Dil" means heart and "Ara" means between. Hence, the name to Turks would mean "in the heart".
