DivvyCloud
DivvyCloud is a Cloud Management Platform (CMP) that specializes in managing multi/hybrid cloud footprints as well as event driven infrastructure. The product supports a wide range of cloud compute resources including instances, storage, networking, DNS, load balancers and more. It ships with a web-based interface, a robust and extensible plugin system as well as a unified programmatic API that works across over a dozen public/private cloud technologies. The software can be downloaded and ran on bare metal or a virtual private server (VPS). == History ==
DivvyCloud was founded in May, 2013 by Brian Johnson and Chris DeRamus who came from Electronic Arts (EA). During their tenure at EA they were responsible for running some of the most successful and longest running MMORPG titles using a combination of on-premises and virtualized hardware coupled with public cloud technology for elasticity. After writing a large number of proprietary tools to manage their complex environment they decided to part ways with the company and began writing the unification engine that would later become the core of DivvyCloud. In May 2013 DivvyCloud was selected into the Accelerprise program and received a seed investment of $30,000. This money was used to build the first prototype of the tool and to begin the initial fundraising. The company later transitioned to Northern Virginia in August 2013 where they would eventually raise $865,000 from a variety of angel investors. The software is developed and maintained in-house by developers located in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.
