Donald Ulysses MacDonald

Donald Ulysses MacDonald is a fictional character in the TV series ''Monarch of the Glen''. Donald is played by British actor Tom Baker.
The aging eccentric Donald arrives at Glenbogle under police custody following driving charges. Donald is not allowed cars, money and is not allowed to leave the estate without his nephew Paul Bowman. He constantly tries to escape, sometimes with the help of his nineteen-year-old friend/chef Ewan Brodie. Donald and Ewan have lots of fun, including trying to shoot poachers, chasing the police and even accidentally dancing at Meg Paterson's dancing classes. Donald was a racing car driver, and in series six relived his career ups and downs with friend Jackie MacIntyre. When he was younger Donald was attracted to his brother Hector's wife Molly. He left Glenbogle because of this and never returned for forty years. A few weeks before his release Donald went to rescue Ewan in his car, but Donald was forbidden to use a car, and so remained for another six months at Glenbogle.
