Doxato ((ギリシア語:Δοξάτο), formerly Δοξάτον) is a town and municipality in the Drama regional unit, in East Macedonia and Thrace, Greece. The seat of the municipality is the town Kalampaki.〔(Kallikratis law ) Greece Ministry of Interior 〕 ==Municipality== The municipality Doxato was formed at the 2011 local government reform by the merger of the following 2 former municipalities, that became municipal units:〔 *Doxato *Kalampaki The former municipality of Doxato was founded as a result of law 2539/1997 ("Plan Kapodistria"), by merging the former municipalities of Doxato and Megalou Alexandrou, and the former communities of Agios Athanasios and Kefalarion. According to the 2001 census, the former municipality had a population of 11,000 and the town 3,739.〔().
