Egomath is a mathematical search engine developed at the Charles University in Prague. It can search for mathematical formulae written in LaTeX and simple text providing a list of matched documents and snippets with highlighted matched terms. Users submit queries via two text fields. One is used for simple text and the other for the mathematical query. The search engine can handle documents with mathematics written in LaTeX or MathML. The official dataset for the mathematical search engine is the English Wikipedia dump from 2011. Egomath was completely based on Egothor at the beginning. However, the search back-end is based on the Apache Solr search platform since 2010. The indexer and the front-end are standalone applications. During the indexing phase, the indexer firstly extracts the mathematical formula from a document, converts it into tree representation, performs ordering algorithm and augmentation algorithm which results in multiple representations of the one formula. Each representation is more abstract than the previous one. The formula is then indexed using full text search engine back-end together with the document text.
