Euan
Euan, Ewen or Ewan is a male given name, most commonly heard throughout Scotland and Canada. It is a derivative of Eoghan (meaning "born of the yew (tree)") and is of Irish and Gaelic origin.〔Ó Corráin, Donnchadh agus Maguire, Fidelma. Irish Names (1981, 1990). 87-88.〕 It is also, less commonly, a surname. Iuan, Ioan, Iwan and Iwen is the Welsh derivative. It is also associated loosely with the Scottish god of the glen. Owen is the predominant Welsh spelling of the name, but also Iwan and Iuan are also found, as in Cornish). Ouen can be considered the French or Breton spelling of the name. Euan, in Gaelic etymology, implies a plethoric (red-faced) individual. Euan is also a Latin word meaning Bachus.〔http://www.archives.nd.edu/cgi-bin/lookup.pl?stem=euan〕 ==People==
