Exhibition (scholarship)

An exhibition is a type of scholarship award or bursary.
==United Kingdom and Ireland==
At the universities of Dublin, Oxford and Cambridge, and at Westminster School, St Paul's School, London, Eton College, Winchester College, Harrow School, and various other UK educational establishments, an exhibition is a financial award or grant to an individual student, normally on grounds of merit (at Oxford and Cambridge, for example, it is typical to be awarded an exhibition for first class performance in examinations).〔(Scholarships, Exhibitions and Bursaries ), Wellington College, UK.〕 The amount is less than a scholarship.
An exhibitioner is a student who has been awarded an exhibition (as a ''scholar'', in this context, is one who has been awarded a scholarship).
