''Fascicularia'' is a genus of the botanical family Bromeliaceae, subfamily Bromelioideae. The genus name is from the Latin “fasciculus” (bundle) and “arius” (pertaining to)〔http://www.bsi.org/brom_info/genera.html〕 Only one species is known, ''Fascicularia bicolor.'' It is indigenous to Chile and reportedly naturalized in France and Great Britain.〔(Kew World Checklist of Selected Plant Families )〕 In the wild, all ''Fascicularias'' are terrestrial, saxicolous (growing on rocks) or epiphytes. ==Subspecies== Two subspecies are recognized: * ''Fascicularia bicolor'' subsp.
