Fluvalinate (trade names include Apistan, Klartan, Minadox) is a synthetic pyrethroid commonly used to control varroa mites in honey bee colonies. Fluvalinate is a stable, non-volatile, fat-soluble compound. Fluvalinate effectiveness was demonstrated in France and Israel.
