Fonogenic

Fonogenic is an online music store founded in 2004. The store features handpicked downloads from independent artists in and around Los Angeles. Unlike iTunes Music Store which features millions of songs, Fonogenic.com is an mp3 boutique, offering a limited catalog based on the personal tastes of its staff.〔Filus, Sarah (August 1, 2005). "Locals Only.", ''Los Angeles Business Journal''〕
In early 2005, Fonogenic emerged along with other notable mp3 blogs into the live music scene promoting live events with the much publicized mp3 blog Music (For Robots)〔Montopoli, Brian (June 6, 2005). "Little-Known Bands Get Lift Through Word-of-Blog.", ''New York Times''〕 in major venues around Hollywood.
The term Fonogenic was coined to describe musical recordings that the staff loved. Something is considered "Fonogenic" if it sounds good.
