Formicola is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Caserta in the Italian region Campania, located about north of Naples and about northwest of Caserta. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,492 and an area of .〔All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.〕 Formicola borders the following municipalities: Camigliano, Giano Vetusto, Pietramelara, Pontelatone, Roccaromana, and Rocchetta e Croce.
