Gajpanth

Gajpanth (also spelled as ''Gajpantha'') is a Jain pilgrimage site (''tirth-kshetra'') located near the Jain temple at Nashik. It is situated in Nashik district, Masrul village in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The hill has 450 steps. There are three caves and Jain temples belonging to the Digambara sect on the hill. The three caves are also known as 'chamar leni caves'. There is a sculpture depicting samavasarana (divine preaching hall of tirthankara) on the hills of Gajpanth.
== History ==
Gajpanth is said to be the salvation place of seven 'Balbhadra'.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Gajpantha )〕 It is well known because many Jain monks (or sadhu) parmeshthi (refer namokar mantra), which is fifth panch parmesthi, attained moksha from this hill.
