It had a population of 1,288,665 as of 2010 census and a total area of 3270.8 km². The locals speak a variation of the Gaozhou dialect. It is best known for being the ancestral home of Leo Ku. ==Administration== Administratively, Gaozhou City is under the jurisdiction of Maoming. It is a historically important city in Guangdong. It was set up as a city in 1993.
