Gawirkayeti
Gawirkayeti or ''Gawurkayeti'' (Kurdish: ''Gewirkayetî/Gewurkayetî'', گهورکایهتی, literally: ''abode of Gawirks''), is the southernmost part of Mukriyan region of the Iranian Kurdistan, and the West Azarbaijan Province of Iran. The region is inhabited by ''Gawirk'' Kurds, and encompasses the area to the west of Bokan, east of Sardasht, southwest of Mahabad and northwest of Saqqez. It corresponds with the ancient land of ''Gamirk/Gimirri'', of the land of Mannea, inhabited by Kimmerians. The name ''Gawirk'' seems to be a variation of ''Gamir-k'', since Iranian /-m/ is usually developed into /-w/ in modern Kurdish.
