Ghazir
Ghazir is a Lebanese village located in the Kesrwan District of the Mount Lebanon Governorate. Its name is derived from the numerous groundwater reserves that exist under the village itself ("Ghazira" in arabic means of great amounts, and typically refers to water). Ghazir is divided into three major parts : Ghazir el Fawka, Central Ghazir, and Kfarhbab. The overwhelming majority in Ghazir is Christian Maronite, and thus almost all churches in Ghazir (11 out of 12) are Maronite churches, and the remaining one located in lower Kfarhbab is Orthodox. Ghazir is very diversified in terms of families, and among its largest families are: Haddad, Slaiby, Ghobeira, Chidiac, Zeinny, Frem, Zayek, Zgheib, and many others.
