Gigmax

Gigmax is a Philadelphia, PA-based startup specializing in data synchronization, data backup, and file hosting.
The company was formed by two 2010 Lehigh University graduates.
==Company history==
Matt Kenig was only entering his senior year of high school, yet he was already tired of carrying around a USB flash drive whenever he wanted to move a history paper from a school computer to his personal PC or print a lab report from a different classroom. His unappealing second option? Filling up his inbox by emailing himself any documents he needed to access at another desktop.
Incontent with the limited current technology, Kenig created a storage website that made it simpler for people to upload, store, organize, and transfer their files - eliminating the need for a tangible object, like a USB flash drive, or hefty email attachments.
It was August 2005. The beginning of Gigmax.com.
Kenig entered Lehigh University the following year as a computer science and business major. Down the hall in his dorm, not even 100 feet away, was an electrical engineer with a genius technical mind, David Gerlach. The two guys quickly became a pair, friends in life and business partners in Gigmax.
They shared a desire to grow the storage website and set about remodeling its look and usability. Kenig and Gerlach faced numerous obstacles in the reinvention process, but any detours only furthered their goal to improve file transfer and storage. Within another year, Gigmax.com had a new design with advanced capabilities, including community, photo, and uploading applications.
But, the work didn't stop there. Kenig and Gerlach began seriously researching Gigmax competitors, analyzing the pros and cons of the industry standards. By the summer of 2009, they finalized a clear vision and business plan for the company.
With the help of local investors and the support of the Pennsylvania technical community, Gerlach and Kenig began turning their Gigmax dreams into a reality, working long hours to code the ideal service for their users. The result? A file storage system that surpasses "transfer" and instead realizes file synchronization and access for what it should be: limitless.
Gigmax is currently led by the following management team:〔http://www.lehighvalley.org/page.cfm?pag=58&new=279〕
