Gignowal shares its boundaries with the following villages: Pandori Khajoor, Sekhupur, Pandori Bhawa, Nangal Maroof, Bahad, Dhade Fateh Singh, Dosarka and Fatehpur. The village is spread over a area, although it has started to expand beyond its boundaries. Residents own agricultural land in other villages. ==Origin of name== The name "Giganwal" is associated with saint Baba Gigan Ji. Saint baba gigan jis samadh (tomb) is situated on the outskirts of Giganwal—pandori road at around half km outside of the village.
