Globophobia
Globophobia is a fear of balloons. In some cases, the fear is of balloons in general, while in others the object of fear is the sound produced when balloons pop (phonophobia). Globophobics tend to avoid parties and special occasions such as birthday parties, weddings, or any other festivities that may involve balloons as decorations. Globophobia is uncommon, but sufferers include Oprah Winfrey, So Ji-sub, and Doug Stanhope. Generally, globophobics will refuse to touch, feel, or go near a balloon for fear it will pop.〔 PMID 8188847〕 Globophobics tend not to trust people who have a balloon in their hand or anywhere near them, especially children. ==References== 〔
