Gojubavi : ウィキペディア英語版
Gojubavi
Gojubavi is a village in Pune district in the Indian state of Maharashtra.
==History of Gojubavi==
The village of 'Gojubavi' was part of 'supa paragana' in the 16th century. The name of the village has been given by the old people which is related to a lady in ancient time/pre independence of village, whose was 'Gojai',
She was from a well-known family 'Mokashi' of village at that time. As per the history of village, the lady 'Gojai' has given her life for her husband in the name of Sati.
Sati (Sanskrit: satī, also spelled suttee) is an obsolete Indian funeral custom where a widow was expected to immolate herself on her husband's pyre, or commit suicide in another fashion shortly after her husband's death.
Based on the sacrifice of her life for her husband, villagers decided to give her name as the village name which is now famous as Gojubavi in the region of Baramati and in the Pune District.
