Goxua Goxua (which means "sweet" in Basque) is a typical dessert from the Basque Country, especially from Vitoria-Gasteiz. Gasteiz pastry chef Luis Lopez de Sosoaga claims to have first created the dessert in 1977. == History == Lopez said that in 1977 he was invited to lunch at the local gastronomic association he was served a dessert in a pot made of clay. This gave him inspiration to create his own recipe. He presented his dessert at a local restaurant as a trial, its presentation was an instant success. The restaurateur gave the concoction the name “goxua”.
