Guselkumab is a monoclonal antibody designed for the treatment of psoriasis.〔(Statement On A Nonproprietary Name Adopted By The USAN Council - Guselkumab ), ''American Medical Association''.〕 By targeting the p19 submit, guselkumab was designed to block interleukin-23 and not IL-12. Interleukin 23 is a cytokine that plays an important role in managing the immune system and autoimmune disease. This drug was developed by Janssen Global Services, LLC. As of March 2014, the drug was in phase II clinical trials for plaque psoriasis.
