Kingcome, British Columbia Kingcome, known as Okwunalis〔(BC Names/GeoBC entry "Okwunalis" )〕 and Gwa'yi in Kwak'wala (actually the name of the Kingcome River,〔(Simon Fraser University Digital Village project "Gwa'yi (Kingcome)" )〕 is an unincorporated settlement in the Kingcome Inlet area of the Central Coast of British Columbia, Canada, located a few miles up the Kingcome River from the head of the inlet.〔(BC Names/GeoBC entry "Kingcome (locality)" )〕 Quaee Indian Reserve No. 7 is the Indian reserve containing the village.〔(BC Names/GeoBC entry "Quaee 7 (Indian reserve)" )〕 It is the home of one of the four tribes of the Dzawada’enuxw (Tsawataineuk) subgroup of the Kwakwaka'wakw and was in the past site of a large cannery.
