Gwarighat

Gwarighat is a small town on the banks of the river Narmada near the city of Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, India.〔(Gwarighat To MadanMahal )〕 It is associated with Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism.
==History==
Guru Nanak undertook four journeys, also known as ''Udaasis'', in order to spread his message. He travelled four times in four different directions from his native Punjab. During his first ''Udaasi'', starting in 1501 CE, he traveled to eastern and southern India. On his return to Punjab he stopped at Gwarighat and preached there. There is a Gurudwara (Sikh temple) on the bank of the Narmada river to commemorate Guru Nanak’s visit. It also has a Jain temple that is famous for its idols. In 2013, Gwarighat was declared a ''Darmik Kshetra'' ("Religious Place") by the Government of Madhya Pradesh. There are other famous temples in Gwarighat, including Shri Ramlala Mandir, Ganesh Mandir, GeetaDhaam, and Chaandi Ke Ganesh Ji, also known as "Gwarighat Ka Raja", made of pure silver (Chaandi). Every year the weight and height of the idol inside is said to increase.
