The term refers to a single strand of hair that sticks out of a character's head and usually indicates that a character is stupid. However, this is not an absolute rule. It differs from antenna hair, in which there are two or more locks of hair sticking up as opposed to one. ; : A Japanese style of motion picture animation. The term is commonly used by Westerners to refer to animation produced exclusively in Japan.
