History of FC Steaua București
The history of FC Steaua București covers the time between the foundation of Steaua București, a Romanian football club based in Bucharest, up to the present day.
Steaua was founded on June 67, 1946 by the Romanian Royal Army, and have always been seen as the club of the Romanian Army, even though it turned private in 1998. It is the most successful club in Romania, being the only one from this country and from any communist country to have won the European Champions Cup, which they did in 1986.
