Hypacoustic is a New Zealand Cinema Audio product. Its parent company, Arvus Group New Zealand was founded by Matthew and Julie Simmons. The Hypacoustic Speaker system began development in 2002, with significant government investment funding via the New Zealand Foundation for Research, Science and Technology, FRST.〔Ministry of Research, Science and Technology, (2009). "Idea to Impact - Making R&D work for your business", ISBN 978-0-478-06158-1〕〔(Booming into international cinemas )〕 The primary difference between the Hypacoustic Speaker System and traditional cinema speaker systems is that the front Left, Right and Centre channel speakers are designed for placement around the screen rather than being placed behind a perforated vinyl screen. It had been assumed that the sound channels needed to be in physically the same position as the visual events they are co-ordinated with, but research has shown that the human brain will attribute a sound event to a salient visual cue.〔(Hartmann, W.M., (1983), Localization of sound in rooms- the effect of visual fixation, Paris, 11e ICA )〕〔Kagerer FA, Contreras-Vidal JL (2009), Exp Brain Research 193(2):315-21〕〔(Psychology - A Factual Textbook By Edwin Garrigues Boring, . LONDON CHAPMAN HALL, LIMITED 1935 )〕〔Sound localization with conflicting visual and auditory cues., Witkin, H. A.; Wapner, S.; Leventhal, T., Journal of Experimental Psychology. Vol 43(1), Jan 1952, 58-67〕 This has led to the common use of perforated screens in cinema, with the associated problems of reduced reflectivity and moire, which is an increased problem with already pixellated digital projection; and altered sound.〔(review of audio modification by perforated screens )〕 Most home cinema already has speakers around the screen, not behind it. Traditional surround speakers radiate over 60 - 100 degrees.〔(traditional cinema surround speaker specification )〕 However, for accurate surround sound, a 360 degree radiation is required.〔John Watkinson (2009), "sound for 3D cinema", cinema technology asia pacific〕 Laser Pacific (a fully owned Kodak subsidiary based in Hollywood LA) had their current screening room Hypacoustic audio system installed on 17 January 2008. == References == 〔 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Hypacoustic」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
