InConJunction
InConJunction is a fan-run, not-for-profit science fiction convention held during the first weekend in July in Indianapolis, Indiana. Past guests include Philip José Farmer, Frederik Pohl,〔 Catherine Asaro, George R.R. Martin, Jerry Pournelle, Glen Cook, Mike Resnick, Timothy Zahn, and David Drake. The convention focuses on literature and literacy, but not to the exclusion of other areas of interest. Unique or unusual features include a dedicated Doctor Who room sponsored by The Whoosier Network, an anime room sponsored by The Indiana Animation Club, and a charity auction supporting Indy Reads and other charities as chosen by the convention chairperson.
==Upcoming conventions==
InConJunction 35 will be held July 3rd – 5th, 2015, at the Indianapolis Marriott East. The Author Guests of Honor are Timothy Zahn (author of the Thrawn trilogy of Star Wars books, the Quadrail Series, the Conquerors' trilogy, and the Cobra Rebellion Trilogy) and Dr. Arlan K. Andrews, Sr. (author, futurist, and founder of the SIGMA science fiction think tank). The Artist Guest of Honor is RJ Haddy (former contestant and finalist on the Syfy Channel's reality competition series Face Off. The Music Guest of Honor is Marian Call. The Featured Guests are Christopher Dunn (author of Lost Technologies of Ancient Egypt: Advanced Engineering in the Temples of the Pharaohs), Tammy Jo Eckhart (author of edgy fiction that crosses genres), Michelle Mussoni (international Award Winning Cosplayer), and Robert Pyatt, Ph. D.. The Fan Guest of Honor is George Starkey (local fan fixture and George Lucas Doppelgänger as seen in Pitching Lucas and Saving Star Wars). The Toastmaster is Lou Harry (author of The Superman Guide to Life: Living the Superhero Lifestyle and the novelization of Santa Claus Conquers the Martians). The selected charities are Indy Reads and The Central Indiana Section of the Society of Women Engineers.
InConJunction 36 will be held July 1st – 3rd, 2016, at the Indianapolis Marriott East. The guest list has yet to be announced.
InConJunction 37 will be held June 30th – July 2nd, 2017, at the Indianapolis Marriott East. The guest list has yet to be announced.
