"Into the Groove" is a song by American singer Madonna from the 1985 film ''Desperately Seeking Susan''. It was featured on the re-issue of her second studio album ''Like a Virgin'' (1984), and released on July 23, 1985 by Sire Records as the album's fourth single outside North America. The original song was included on her third greatest hits album, ''Celebration'' (2009), while remixes of it appeared on the remix compilation ''You Can Dance'' (1987), and her first greatest hits compilation ''The Immaculate Collection'' (1990). However, Madonna believed that the song would be more suitable for her film ''Desperately Seeking Susan'', and re-recorded it with Bray, making it suitable for the soundtrack.〔 When Kamins found out, he was furious that Madonna did not have the courtesy to tell him that she wanted the song for a different purpose.
