''j.'', also known as ''Jweekly'',〔()〕 is a weekly print newspaper in Northern California. It is owned and operated by San Francisco Jewish Community Publications Inc. It is based in San Francisco, California. who also own and operate the companion website jweekly.com.
==History==
It began publishing as a San Francisco newspaper named ''The Emanu-El'' on December 22, 1895, and in 1932 it merged with the ''Jewish Journal'', a competing Jewish newspaper. In 1946, following a merger, it changed its name to the ''Jewish Community Bulletin'', in 1979 it was renamed the ''San Francisco Jewish Bulletin'', in 1984 it was renamed the ''Northern California Jewish Bulletin'', and in 2003 it was renamed ''j. the Jewish news weekly of Northern California''.〔
