JPEGmini is a Photo Optimization software founded in 2011, that compresses the file size of JPEG photos by up to 5X, while keeping the resolution and quality of the original photos. ==Technology== JPEGmini's technology has two integral parts: An image quality detector and a JPEG encoder. The image quality detector can imitate the perceptual qualities of the human visual system. This helps to determine the maximum amount of compression that can be applied to each photo without causing visible artifacts. The JPEG encoder adapts the JPEG encoding process to the original photos. This creates the most compact representation of the photos. This is possible under the JPEG standard.
