JSLint
JSLint is a static code analysis tool used in software development for checking if JavaScript source code complies with coding rules. It is provided primarily as an online tool, but there are also command-line adaptations.〔(command-line adaptation projects )〕 It was developed by Douglas Crockford. == License == The JSLint license〔(JSLint source file, including license )〕 is a derivative of the MIT License.〔(JSMin isn't welcome on Google Code )〕 The sole modification is the addition of "The Software shall be used for Good, not Evil." According to the Free Software Foundation, this clause makes the license nonfree.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.html#JSON )〕 The clause has also prevented JSLint-related software from being hosted on Google Code〔 and from being included in the Debian free software package repositories.〔(Re: The Software shall be used for Good, not Evil. )〕 Because of this restriction, according to Crockford, IBM asked Crockford for a license to do evil, such that their customers could use it.〔'(【引用サイトリンク】title=IBM and its minions... )〕〔''The JSON Saga'' by Douglas Crockford〕
