Jagdeva was a Paramara dynasty ruler of Malwa region of central India who moved to Akhnoor state of north India and led foundation stone of PAWAR Dynasty (AMBA RAIAN). Jagdev's father name was Udayaditya (1059 to 1086), who was the eleventh of total twenty four kings of great Pawar of Dhar. He had two elder brothers named Laxmandev and Narvarmdev. Jagdev was very valorous. ==Foundation of State of Akhnoor== After staying some years in Gujrat, Rai jagdeva with some of his followers turned to north and in year 1151 Bikrami against 1094 AD, this small caravan settled at about 2 miles north-east of Akhnoor, which was then known as Wrat Nagari at a place Amba Rann, Rai Jagdeva was worshipper of Mata Amba and Rai was his dynasty which till now Rajas of Dhara state Maharajas and other Pawar Rajas use it. Therefore the place where Rai jagdev stayed was named as AMBARAI which later on changed to AMBA RAIAN. People of coming generations of Rai Jagdeva Pawar were thus known as AMBA RAIAN. In the beginning of 12th century he found the state of Akhnoor and established his kingdom there and its rulers known as Amba raian rajas. Parmar dynasty has ruled the Akhnoor state for 600 years. Founder of Akhnoor raja jagdev parmar built a fort and palace about 5 miles west of Akhnoor at village Ghari. Amba raian rajas ruled the Akhnoor for about 600 years and their relations with the kingdom of Rajouri and Jammu were cordial and friendly . They were allies to each other in case of attack from outside. Rajas of PAWAR Dynasty (AMBA RAIAN) were proud of being the descendents of Maharaja Vikram aditya who was a judicious, philanthropist and foresighted king of his time, whose vikrami Bikram Samwat is still prevailing in India.
