Jeremys is a department store in the United States with two locations in California – San Francisco and Berkeley. Jeremys carries a large selection of men’s and women’s apparel, shoes and accessories. The San Francisco store carries an assortment of discounted high-end designer and local designer merchandise. The Berkeley store offers a mix of discounted couture wear. ==History== In 1987, Berkeley native, Jeremy Kidson, established New West in a small rented office space. The store sold mostly samples purchased from local clothing companies and was only opened on Saturdays. With the support and demand for more merchandise, Kidson leased more locations and New West expanded its offerings to include menswear, shoes and accessories.〔()〕 In 1993, the name New West was changed to Jeremys when Estee Lauder demanded they stop usage of their trademarked name.〔()〕 Throughout the 1990s, Jeremys expanded its locations.
