is a city located in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. The city was founded as on July 10, 1954.
As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 42,342 and a population density of 531.40 persons per km². The total area is 79.68 km².
On January 1, 2006, Mitsukaidō absorbed the neighboring town of Ishige, Yūki District, Ibaraki and officially changed their name to Jōsō.
