K22JA-D, known on-air as KAJA is a low-power television station in Corpus Christi, Texas, broadcasting locally on channel 22.1 as an affiliate of the Spanish-language Telemundo network. It is co-owned with KRIS-TV and K22JA-D, both of which are owned by KRIS Communications, a DBA of KVOA Communications, which is a subsidiary of Evening Post Industries. K22JA also had two repeaters: K38EB in Kingsville due to arrival of KUQI 38 the repeater in Kingsville can now be seen on Channel 32 and K49DV in Beeville. It originally carried programming from the Telemundo Network. As of September 26, 2010, It carried programming from Azteca América. However on September 30th it flipped back to Telemundo. It is carried on Time Warner Cable channel 16. From December 13, 2011 to May 2012, K68DJ's owners and the cable company were under a dispute regarding carriage fees, leaving TWCable's South Texas customers without Telemundo.〔(Attention Time Warner Cable and former CoBridge customers ) - ''KRIS-TV'' (accessed January 8, 2012)〕 K68DJ had applied to the Federal Communications Commission for permission to move to UHF channel 43. As a low-power broadcasting station, K68DJ is not required to broadcast digitally. That application was cancelled K68DJ applied to move to Channel 22 and has constructed facilities on that frequency with new call sign K22JA-D On February 20, 2013, the FCC cancelled the station's license, citing operating on an out-of-core channel (52 to 69).〔http://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/getimportletter_exh.cgi?import_letter_id=39098〕 As a result of this notice KAJA had ceased transmissions on K68DJ on January,2013 and went digital on a new channel with new call letters of K22JA-D. In 2014, K22JA-D became the digital companion channel for K47DF as K47DF-D.
