KJMM

KJMM (105.3 FM) is a Mainstream Urban radio station serving the Greater Tulsa area. It is owned by Perry Broadcasting and is licensed to Bixby, Oklahoma. Its studios are located in the Copper Oaks complex in South Tulsa and its transmitter site is southeast of Bixby.
==History==
KJMM signed on the air in 1994 as the Urban Contemporary-formatted station for Tulsa. It was one of three original Urban stations launched with the help of Perry Broadcasting, an African-American-based media company under the "Power Jammin'" network (KVSP in Oklahoma City and KJMZ in Lawton are the other two) at a time when the owner believed the African-American community was underserved in the radio media. At that point there was a Black radio station based out of Sand Springs, Ok, a suburb of Tulsa billing itself as KTOW-FM "Mix 102.3" (Now News Talk KRMG-FM). With Announcers: KK Holliday 7p-12, Keith "Sergio Lacour" Samuels 3p-7p afternoon drive, Angel Craig 10a-3p and Aaron Bernard 6a-10a as well as Nikki @ midnite-6am. These announcers had Tulsa on lock until Perry offered better salaries and took all announcers from Mix 102.3. Hiring them to establish his frequency 105.3fm. And when Mix 102.3 folded because of this, Perry fired all of the announcers but Aaron Bernard, and to this day there are no original Tulsa announcers on the station. The station has lacked on Arbitron ratings ever since. Nevertheless, the station played Hip Hop, R&B, Rap and Gospel over the years and was originally called ''Fresh Jamz 105.'' In 2004, KJMM changed its name to ''105.3 K-Jamz'', began carrying the Doug Banks Morning Show—while sending the previously-aired Tom Joyner Morning Show to sister station KGTO, an Urban AC station under ABC Radio's "The Touch" network. In December 2007, KJMM became the new affiliate of the Los Angeles-based Big Boy's Neighborhood, replacing Doug Banks. The Rickey Smiley Morning Show later replaced Big Boy's Neighborhood in the mornings.
