KLUE Longview was on the air from approximately 1965 until 1984. KLUE Longview made history in 1966 when they organized one of the first Beatles bonfires in response to John Lennon's more popular than Jesus comment. The KLUE bonfire was held on Saturday, August 13, 1966. The following day, the KLUE broadcast tower was struck by lightning, damaging much of their equipment and sending the news director to the hospital.
