News Radio 1350 KMAN (1350 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a News Talk Information format. Licensed to Manhattan, Kansas, USA, the station serves the Salina-Manhattan area. KMAN is also the flagship station of the K-State Sports Network, airing Wildcat football, baseball, and men's & women's basketball. In addition, the station also broadcasts football, baseball, and basketball games featuring the Manhattan High Indians. KMAN is the Manhattan area affiliate for both the Kansas City Royals (MLB) and the Kansas City Chiefs (NFL). On September 21st, 2015, the station proudly announced that it had purchased a translator and would now also be broadcasting it's programming on 93.3 FM in addition to 1350 AM and the stations' website. Not only will this bring the KMAN signal into a larger area, it will also provide programming at a higher wattage 24 hours a day. The AM signal must be powered down at sunset due to FCC regulations. As a result, a much larger audience will now be able to enjoy KMAN's award-winning news, weather, and sports coverage. The Program Director is Erik Stone, the News Director is Cathy Dawes, and the Sports Director is John Kurtz. KMAN is part of Manhattan Broadcasting Company, which also owns and operates three other stations (KMKF, KXBZ, and KACZ) and an increasing digital presence.
