KNOF

KNOF (95.3 FM) is a non-commercial, Christian gospel music and Christian teaching radio station owned by Praise Broadcasting in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.
KNOF was founded by the Rev. Fred and the Rev. Grace Adam in August 1960 to broadcast Christian programming to the greater Twin Cities area of St. Paul / Minneapolis.
In August 2007, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved the transfer of control of Selby Gospel Broadcasting Corporation to North Central University, as a gift to the college at the request of Rev. Grace Adam, an alumna of the University.〔(NCU Receives Gift of Radio Station | North Central University )〕
The station operates from new state of the art studios on the campus of North Central University and broadcasts at a power of 6,000 watts from a 249 foot tower in St. Paul, the city of license.
KNOF was sold to Praise Broadcasting effective October 17, 2014 for $5 million. However, nearly eleven months later, Praise Broadcasting announced on September 24, 2015, that it sold KNOF to Northern Lights Broadcasting in exchange for moving the format to the HD2 sub channel of Northern Lights' KTWN, along with a five year sponsorship deal with the Minnesota Twins for "Faith Night" from 2016 to 2020 and to use Target Field for Praise FM's annual concerts in 2016 and 2017. Once the deal is approved by the FCC, the station will flip formats and become a commercial outlet. On October 9, 2015, speculation from radio websites has Northern Lights moving KTWN and its Alternative format to 95.3, paving the way for a new format to debut at 96.3. These rumors have only increased as Northern Lights has requested the callsign KZGO for the station.〔("Northern Lights Broadcasting Acquires KNOF Minneapolis" ) from Radio Insight (September 24, 2015)〕
