KQMT (99.5 FM, "The Mountain", previously, 99.5 The Hawk) is an album rock/classic rock station serving the Denver area and is owned by Entercom Communications Corp. Its studios are located in the Denver Tech Center district, and the transmitter is on Lookout Mountain near Golden. KQMT broadcasts in HD.〔http://www.hdradio.com/station_guides/widget.php?id=71〕 99.5 The Mountain On Air Personalities are Mike Casey, Cathy Taylor and Dan Mitchell. ==History== In October 1958 the station signed on as KDEN-FM and then in 1969 changed call letters to KVOD and began airing a classical music format. KVOD was originally a commercial radio station, marketing as the voice of classical music for the Denver Metro area on 99.5 FM from 1969 to 1996. On March 13, 1996 the station moved to 92.5 FM following the sale of the 99.5 frequency to Tribune Broadcasting who launched a classic rock station called KKHK ("The Hawk").
